Southern Spain
Opened in 1990, Atalaya New Course in Estepona, designed by renowned architect Paul Krings, offers a captivating challenge for golf enthusiasts.
Paul Krings is known for designing several prestigious golf courses in Europe, including the famous Golf Club Schloss Maxlrain in southern Germany.
This course stands out for its technical layout, favoring shot precision over sheer power due to its fairways and greens featuring significant slopes and elevation changes.
Situated on elevated terrain just above the Atalaya Old Course, the New Course boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, the Mediterranean, and even the Rock of Gibraltar on clear days.
Away from busy roads, this course offers a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a tranquil round of golf.
Nature is omnipresent: around the lake bordering the picturesque 4th hole and within the natural woodland at the heart of the course, where cork oaks, olive trees, and carob trees stand tall.
The course includes some inclines and is located a fair distance from the clubhouse, so renting a golf cart is recommended for added comfort.
As part of a long-term investment plan, Atalaya Golf & Country Club is committed to continuously maintaining and improving the quality and playability of this course throughout the 12-month golfing season.
The first tee of the New Course is a short distance from the Peter Gustafson Academy, where we offer Costa del Sol golf training programs—perfect for warming up before your round.
Finally, water fountains are available throughout the course to keep you refreshed during your game.
